DAVID CROCKETT BIRTHPLACE PILSNER

Rebirth of David Crockett Birthplace State Park

David Crockett Birthplace State Park is a unique historical site commemorating the life and legacy of one of America's most iconic pioneers, David Crockett. Since 1973, the park has offered visitors a glimpse into early 18th-century frontier life, with a reconstructed cabin, museum exhibits, and the tranquil beauty of the Appalachian landscape along the Nolichucky River in East Tennessee.

On September 27, 2024, record flooding from Hurricane Helene devastated this beloved site, causing extensive damage to its physical structures and natural beauty. The park is currently closed for public safety. The State of Tennessee is working to secure funding for the rebuilding of David Crockett Birthplace State Park and a master planning process has begun. To ensure that future generations can continue to learn from and enjoy this cultural landmark, we are launching a major fundraising effort to support the rebirth of the park.

David Crockett was born in 1786. While serving in Congress, he fought for his constituents’ right to keep land they had settled in the new frontier of Tennessee. A man of strong moral convictions, he was a vocal critic of President Andrew Jackson's policy of forcibly removing Native American tribes from their ancestral lands. Crockett believed that the policy was unjust and inhumane. Crockett died at the Alamo Mission in March of 1836 while aiding the Texans in their fight for independence from Mexico.

Tennessee Brew Works is a brewery that celebrates our home, Tennessee. So, we are doing what we know best: we have created a special beer to help with the park’s rebirth. Presenting “David Crockett Birthplace Pilsner,” created in collaboration with our friends at Johnson City Brewing Co.

Introducing the “Go Ahead Fund” for the Park

“Be Always Sure You Are Right – Then Go Ahead." – David Crockett

This quote was David Crockett’s personal motto and his battle cry. He is a hero who wouldn't let the ideological polarization of the times lead him astray from doing what he knew was right. We believe this represents the spirit of the rebirth of David Crockett Birthplace State Park and our efforts to support the park.

In partnership with Tennessee State Parks and the Friends of David Crockett Birthplace, we are helping supporters raise funds for the park for a range of projects that could include improving trails, picnic areas and historic exhibits. Private funds will supplement public funds to ensure comprehensive support for these initiatives, providing an immersive, enjoyable, and educational experience for all visitors.
